Annual Report
The LSC is required by the Access to Justice Act 1999 to lay its Annual Report and Accounts in Parliament. The report outlines the LSC's achievement over the last financial year, and includes the business accounts as signed off by the NAO.
A delay in the accounts process meant we were unable to get them signed off by the Comptroller and Auditor General before the Summer recess.
The LSC Annual Report and Accounts 2008/09 was laid in Parliament and published on 29 October.
The LSC's Statistical Information 2008/09 pack is now available on our website under Documents.
Key facts
- In 2008/09 the LSC's civil and crime providers delivered nearly 2.9 million acts of assistance
- We increased the number of cases of initial civil advice and assistance on areas like debt and housing to over 1 million in 2008/09 - a record amount
-
The LSC achieved 17 out of 20 Key Performance Indicators.
Strategic Plan
Our Strategic Plan must be approved by the Lord Chancellor, published and laid before both Houses of Parliament. It is published once our budget has been agreed and includes:
- how we plan to use the resources of the Community Legal Service Fund and Criminal Defence Service Fund in the coming year
- our plans for developing the CLS and CDS over the next three years
- general information about our vision, corporate priorities and responsibilities.
The 2009-12 plan is under Documents.
Current Performance
Current RAG rated performance against our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) can be seen in the KPI Matrix, in the Documents panel. The document is updated monthly to include the latest information on how our KPIs are progressing.
Previous annual reports and strategic plans can be found in the document archive.
