What's new

We have made some changes to our website so our latest news and announcements can be found more easily.

We have replaced the Legal updates page with What’s New, CLS News & Updates, CDS News & Updates and Newsroom sections.

Together these will house important announcements and highlight significant updates to this website. Providers and other visitors with an interest in our programme to reform legal aid should check these pages often.

What’s new?

The What’s new section contains our latest news and updates of potential interest to all site visitors. Information in this section will include:

• policy announcements
• major consultations and tenders
• publication of new research.

CLS News & Updates and CDS News & Updates

The CLS News & Updates and CDS news & updates pages are aimed at for providers working within the Community Legal Service and Criminal Defence Service. They sit under the CLS and CDS sections of this site and will accommodate more technical updates, such as:

• more technical consultations and tender opportunities
• updates to key documents such as our forms, contracts and guidance
• detail of reforms affecting providers such as the move to ebusiness.

These sections will complement our Focus and Focus on CDS newsletters.

Newsroom

We have also introduced a Newsroom. This contains information and resources for journalists, including:

• national, trade and regional press releases
• media contact details for our Press Office and regional offices
• background information on specific issues and FAQs about legal aid.
