Independent financial management survey launched
08 October 2008LSC launches survey to aid provider readiness
The LSC today launched an independent survey of providers’ financial management skills.
The survey aims to establish what areas of training would be help providers in this area. This will shape the training and initiatives we’re looking to fund in early 2009 as part of our programme of Provider Readiness and Support.
Discussions with providers
We’ve talked to solicitors’ firms and not-for-profit agencies providing legal aid services, as well as representative bodies and other stakeholders. From these discussions, it’s clear that fixed fees require new financial management skills and we believe that funding training and support will help you deal with the changing legal aid environment.
Independent
We’ve commissioned an independent law firm management consultant to design and carry out this survey for us, so you can be totally frank in your responses.
You may know Andrew Otterburn from other work he has carried out in relation to Legal Aid markets. At the end of the survey Andrew will provide us with his analysis and we’ll also share his report with you, by posting it on our website.
We need your help…
Please do take part in this survey. Andrew has designed the survey to make it as short and easy as possible so it should only take a few minutes to complete.
This will ensure that the training meets your needs, and help us make best use of the resources we have for training and support.
Further Information
You can fill out the survey by visiting the Otterburn website. You can etiher print it out and post it to the freepost address on the form or fill it in electronically and email it to Andrew.
