Our work in the civil justice system
We have corporate targets to improve the justice system to help it work more effectively for clients, providers and agencies.
Our targets for 2009-10 within the civil justice system are to:
- increase the number of refuges with access to family and/or social welfare law advice for domestic abuse survivors by 10%
- work with family providers to reduce the inappropriate use of mediation exemptions
- reduce the number of adjournments that can be classified as ‘potentially unnecessary’ at first-tier Tribunal (mental health) by 30%
- maintain existing membership of Local Family Justice Councils and attend at least 90% of meetings.
How we determined regional priorities
We worked out priorities for each region from baseline data and developed action plans.
Each quarter each region reports on:
- progress made against the baseline
- best practice they have shared
- barriers identified and resolved.
