Our work in the civil justice system
We have corporate targets to improve the justice system to help it work more effectively for clients, providers and agencies.
Our targets for 2008/9 within the civil justice system are to:
- engage with Her Majesty’s Court Service (HMCS) and Mental Health Review Tribunals (MHRTs) to address identified and agreed operational and policy issues that unnecessarily increase legal aid costs or cause unnecessary operational difficulties to legal aid providers
- work effectively with justice system partners to assist to deliver the PSA 4 targets
- become full members of all Local Family Justice Councils by Mar 09.
We are also working on improving the client’s experience of the justice system (both crime and family) in domestic violence cases.
How we worked out regional priorities
We have worked out priorities for each region from baseline data and developed action plans.
Each quarter regions will report on:
- progress made against the baseline
- best practice they have shared
- barriers identified and resolved.
