Community Legal Advice offering family helpine service
03 September 2009Service enhancement benefits clients and advisers
Following a successful pilot Community Legal Advice is now offering telephone advice about family problems.
Lord Bach will be attending the official launch of the service on 4 September at Community Legal Advice provider Howells in Sheffield.
During the pilot demand for advice exceeded expectations. Our hope is that the service may be of particular help to people who may find it difficult to access traditional services.
Domestic abuse survivors
Examples could include survivors of domestic abuse, people with caring responsibilities and people in rural areas.
Community Legal Advice marketing materials are being updated to reflect the changes. You can make an email order for materials when they are ready.
Encourage your clients to access help by:
- Raising awareness of Community Legal Advice within your organisation. Encourage all staff, especially reception staff, to refer to Community Legal Advice. They can fill in the online ‘call me back’ form on our website. We can then call your client back at a time and in a language that suits them.
- Logging on to the Community Legal Advice advisers’ section to get access to a really useful source of information and tools including quick links to our directory, materials and legal aid eligibility calculator
- Using Community Legal Advice to help you manage your capacity and appointment times
- Referring to us if your own organisation does not specialise in the services that Community Legal Advice offers
- Putting up our posters or displaying our range of information leaflets, including our new call to action leaflets, in your waiting areas.
- Have a look at our catalogue and order them online at the Community Legal Advice advisers’ section
- Linking your website to the Community Legal Advice website
- Keeping up-to-date with Community Legal Advice developments by signing up for our newsletter
