New CLS Strategy for Wales launched
13 September 2007Making Legal Rights a Reality provides a final framework for the delivery of the Community Legal Service in Wales
Making Legal Rights a Reality in Wales is a joint policy paper between the Legal Services Commission and the Welsh Assembly Government. It provides a final framework for the delivery of the Community Legal Service in Wales, following a three-month consultation process earlier this year.
The paper outlines the approach that will be taken in Wales to implement the key policy areas in the Commission's overarching CLS Strategy Making Legal Rights a Reality. It will take account of:
-
devolution
-
the Welsh language
-
Welsh culture and geography
It sets out the structure of governance for the CLS in Wales, and the plans for providing integrated social welfare law and family legal advice services across Wales.
The Legal Services Commission and Welsh Assembly Government are committed to working with key stakeholders in Wales – clients, policy makers, providers and funders, to develop a Community Legal Service that will most effectively deliver the full range of legal services for the people of Wales.
