We are holding a number of events in England and Wales for legal aid providers of Specialist Mental Health Services. They will help you prepare for the changes to the Contract Specification from January 2008.

Service providers can also take part in a number of focus groups concerning access, quality and value to help inform our proposed direction of travel.

Details of these free events are listed below. Lunch is provided. The events will also be eligible for CPD points.

Service providers will be sent an invitation and should contact the nominated coordinator for each event to confirm attendance and numbers.

All events begin at 10.30 and finish by 15.30.

The training is interactive and will cover several key issues including:

• the need for change
• fixed fees and revised specification
• case studies
• best practice
• common assessment issues
• key performance indicators
• outcome codes
• exceptional cases
• management information and the way ahead
• together with focus groups.

Staff from our Specialist Mental Health Unit, Policy Team and Regional Contracting Teams will be taking part.

The LSC see this event as a key opportunity to help service providers prepare for the future and allow us to enter into dialogue with as many of our key providers as possible.
