More clients can be helped by 'out of hours' service
22 July 2009Community Legal Advice is extending its opening times
Community Legal Advice is extending its opening times to make the service more accessible for our clients.
Following customer feedback, Community Legal Advice introduced Saturday morning opening in Apr 09.
What are the extended hours?
From 1 July Community Legal Advice is available until 8pm Monday to Friday.
People can now get free, confidential advice and help outside the normal 9 to 5 with:
- debt
- welfare benefits & tax credits
- housing
- education
- employment problems.
Helping more people
Callers have greater access to the service at times that are more convenient to them.
So the Community Legal Advice helpline will be able to assist more people across England and Wales with their legal problems.
Call me back
Outside of these extended times callers can leave a message and we’ll call back within 24 hours.
Alternatively they can book a call back via the Community Legal Advice website choosing a time and a language that suits them.
Callers can also text 'legalaid' and their name to 80010 and an operator will call back within 24 hours.
Helping people help themselves
Community Legal Advice also offers an extensive range of advice leaflets and information services via their website to helpclients and advisers to help resolve their legal issues.
Family advice service coming
From 10 Aug 2009, Community Legal Advice will also offer family advice to eligible callers over the telephone.
