Reviewing and developing civil policy
We’ve established a civil contracts consultative group (CCCG) to review the impact of the current fee schemes and develop future procurement policy.
Who's on the group?
The group comprises representatives from:
- The Law Society
- Legal Aid Practitioners Group
- Advice Services Alliance
- The Housing Practitioners Association
- Association of Lawyers for Children
- Mental Health Lawyers Association
- Immigration Law Practitioners Association
- Resolution
- Ministry of Justice.
The group meets every quarter.
How the meetings help
Sitting under the consultative group are representative body and stakeholder meetings in the categories of Mental Health, Social Welfare Law, Immigration and Family.
These meetings help inform future procurement policy in each of these areas.
Phase 1 Fee Schemes Review final report
The final review report (April 2009) is under Documents. It provides data analysis of the Phase 1 Civil Fee Schemes Review as set out in the Deed of Settlement.
Areas reviewed include:
- numbers of New Matter Starts
- the diversity impact of the scheme on clients and providers
- cost neutrality and fee levels
- exceptional cases
- disbursements
- the Family scheme structure.
The report is one of the agreed outputs of the CCCG.
New matter starts review report
The first report (Jul 08) is under Documents. It provides data analysis of new civil cases over the last 6 months (3 for Mental Health).
The report is one of the agreed outputs of the CCCG.
