Contract compliance audits

What we're doing with contract compliance audits

Starting on Monday 11 July 2011, we will only carry out a single file audit for contract compliance audits (CCAs). This will be a representative sample of different billing sizes.

The number of files looked at will be a minimum of 30 and maximum of 50 files depending on the level of claims made across the 12 month sample period.

To decide the sample size we will use our existing Audit Precision Tool sample formula. This is also the formula used by the National Audit Office to select samples testing the accuracy of assessments.

Simplifying the audit results

We want to bring greater clarity to the results of CCAs.

So we have removed the category 1, 2, 3 names from future CCA audit results.

That means we will only use the current percentage reductions.

This change does not alter any of the final audit results.

Final % value assessed down   Action and sanctions Old rating name
0.00% – 10.00%  Recoup or credit value of incorrectly claimed files within audit sample.  Category 1
 10.01% - 20.00%  Extrapolation of % reduction. Re-audit to be scheduled. Contract notice/s.  Category 2
20.01% or more  Extrapolation of % reduction. Re-audit to be scheduled. Contract notice/s (Further action, including possible termination, to be taken on an individual basis if result of re-audit).  Category 3
