What we're doing with contract compliance audits
A group, including the National Audit Office, the Law Society and the Legal Services Commission have been looking at how we manage contract compliance audits (CCA). The review has now been completed and a report has been published.
The report contains information about:
- file audits (cost compliance audits, contract compliance audits, exceptional cases, transaction criteria audits, file review)
- communications
- provider selection
- file selection
- standard letters
- timescales
- appeals process
- categorisation and potential financial sanctions following contract compliance audit
- internal and external guidance
- self regulation and reporting
The joint working group approach was found to be very beneficial and the group have agreed to continue to meet two to three times a year to ensure the expected benefits of the work are realised and to resolve any emerging issues.
The group will next meet in March 2009.
Review of guidance and training
As well as looking at the process, a sub group of providers have been reviewing:
- our guidance
- training and support materials
This is now complete and is also included in the final CCA report.
For more information
The full report can be found in the documents section of this page.
Minutes of the review group meetings are also under documents.
