What is the LSC Manual?
All contracted legal aid providers with a 2010 Standard Contract (Civil or Crime) are contractually required to have access to the LSC Manual via a subscription with its publisher.
The manual is the essential reference guide for organisations providing legal aid services and includes:
- statutes
- regulations and orders
- contract documents
- eligibility criteria
- reference materials
The LSC Manual consists of:
- Volume 1: Crime
- Volume 2: Civil
- Volume 3: Funding Code
The manual is also available on CD-ROM and online.
Updates will be provided approximately every six months if required.
How do I access the manual?
Current subscribers
If you have a subscription to the manual you can log in at.Non-subscribers
As a subscription to the LSC manual is mandatory we will be monitoring the take up of subscriptions to ensure that all providers have access to current reference materials.
What about Family and Family with Housing?
Family providers who are continuing to undertake work under the Unified Contract (Civil) can access required information through the LSC’s website at:
www.legalservices.gov.uk/civil/unified_contract_civil.asp
