We have now published the proposed versions of the supervisor standard forms for Housing and Debt, Family, Immigration and Asylum, Education, and Discrimination and supporting guidance.

Please note that you will be required to complete the relevant version of the supervisor standard forms once the invitation to tender stage of the 2013 Standard Civil Contract has opened.   These forms should not be used in relation to the 2010 Standard Civil Contract.

The proposed versions of these documents are available to download from the 2013 standard civil contract page of our website: http://www.legalservices.gov.uk/civil/2013_civil_contract.asp

Further information on the 2013 Standard Civil Contract Tender can be found on the “Tenders” pages of our website: http://www.legalservices.gov.uk/civil/tenders.asp.

Quality measurement tools

The LSC is committed to ensuring clients have access to quality legal advice. Peer Review is an assessment of the competency of advice

Assuring quality for advocates

The development of a quality assurance scheme for advocates was started as a response to a recommendation in Lord Carter’s 2006 report on legal aid. The work was initially taken forward by the LSC and MoJ with the involvement all relevant bodies and stakeholders.

This work is now being led by the regulators operating as a Joint Advocacy Group.

Information about the scheme can be found on the regulators' websites: Solicitors Regulatory Authority and Bar Standards Board.

The Quality Mark

Only organisations that hold the Specialist Quality Mark or Mediation Quality Mark can do legal aid work. We are reviewing the application and assessment process.
