London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Community Legal Advice Centre
Update - extension of tender period
Owing to a delay in publishing the draft contract documentation relating to the Barking and Dagenham CLA Centre the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and the LSC have taken the decision to extend the deadline for submitting tender bids until 12 Noon on Friday 29 January 2010. This will allow potential bidders to review the draft contract documentation whilst drawing up their bids.
The draft contract documents are now available on the Barking and Dagenham CLA Centre tender webpage.
As part of this deadline extension we will allow interested parties to submit questions on the contract documentation. Any questions in relation to any part of the contract documentation should be submitted to clspolicy@legalservices.gov.uk by 12 Noon on Friday 15 January 2010. Answers to any questions submitted will be published on the Council’s website no later than Friday 22 January 2010.
As a result of the deadline extension the anticipated opening of the CLA Centre will now be put back by one month until the 3rd May 2010.
About this tender
The LSC and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham are inviting tenders from organisations to set up a CLA Centre in Barking and Dagenham.
The CLA Centre will provide an integrated and accessible service for clients across the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (covering generalist and specialist legal advice and representation.)
The LSC and the Council will jointly fund the CLA Centre, and it will be required to start delivering services May 2010.
The CLA Centre provider will be required to enter into a joint contract with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and the LSC, containing performance standards and key obligations.
Our aim is that the CLA Centre contract will be awarded in March 2010 and will run for an initial period of three years from the service opening date.
About the tender process
This is an open tendering exercise and any organisation interested in delivering the CLA Centre contract may apply, providing they meet the criteria set out in the Tender Form.
Organisations such as solicitors, not for profit advice agencies and commercial organisations are welcome to tender. Tenders will be treated equally regardless of the type(s) of organisation tendering.
Potential bidders can submit questions relating to the contract documentation until 12 Noon on 15 January 2009. All questions should be emailed to clspolicy@legalservices.gov.uk. Answers will be published on the Council's website no later than 22nd January.
The deadline for tender applications is 12 noon on Friday 29 January 2010.
