We recently announced a tender process for up to £10 million of new civil legal advice. The closing date for bids was 7th August 2008. We published a timeline from publication of documents to award of contracts in section 2.12 of the Information for Applicants. Due to the high number of tenders received, particularly from new organisations, the assessment of the bids will take longer than anticipated.
We have therefore amended the timeline as follows:

About this bid round
We are inviting tenders for:
- family and/or an integrated social welfare law service at a basic advice level in a number of civil categories of law
- immigration advice both by telephone and at immigration removal centres.
This is an open tendering process. All firms or agencies that meet our quality standards can apply, currently contracted or not.
Successful organisations will also be authorised to provide representation to eligible clients in certain categories of law.
The deadline for submitting tenders is 7 Aug 08.
About the process
We are running bid rounds to award contracts in:
- specialist advice in domestic abuse
- specialist advice in public law children.
We're inviting tenders to deliver family and/or social welfare law services (a minimum of 3 social welfare law categories from debt, housing, welfare benefits, community care and employment) in specific procurement areas across England and Wales.
We are also inviting Expressions of Interest in the provision of Family Mediation services.

Update on immigration tenders
We will shortly be inviting tenders for specialist, high quality and easily accessible services for immigration advice at:
- police stations
- immigration removal centres (IRCs).
