About this tender
We are launching a tender process for up to £2 million worth of contracts for the Specialist Support Service.
This service will provide second-tier consultancy to approved service providers in the form of telephone advice and support with casework.
The budget for consultancy work has been increased so that the service is available for an extended number of hours and will be remunerated at a rate that recognises the specialist nature of the work.
About the tender process
Applications are invited from both existing and potential service providers and must satisfy the criteria set out in the Information for Applicants document.
The service will cover all five areas of social welfare law: community care, debt, employment, housing and welfare benefits.
It will also cover immigration, mental health and actions in public law.
It must be available from 1 April 2008 and will run for at least three years.
The application closing date has been extended to 12 noon 22 February 2008.
