The Senior Presiding Judge, Lord Justice Leveson, will be holding a series of Regional Seminars in April and May. 

These events will be similar in format to the seminars held last year with representatives from across the criminal justice system.

Local and national commitment and support from the Legal Services Commission and defence practitioners for CJSSS in the magistrates’ courts has been pivotal to the success of implementation. 

These events will provide the Senior Presiding Judge with an opportunity to:

• discuss the successful implementation of CJSSS
• consider how CJSSS principles could be applied in the youth court during 2008
• build on the relationships between members of the defence community and Local Implementation Teams (LITs), which have been so productive.

The venues, locations and dates are confirmed as follows:

• Monday 21 April (am) – London - Copthorpe Hotel, Kensington
• Tuesday 22 April (pm) – Midlands - Novotel Hotel, Broad Street, Birmingham
• Thursday 24 April (pm) – North-West - Radisson Hotel, Liverpool
• Friday 25 April (am) – North-East - Park Inn, York
• Tuesday 29 April (pm) – Wales - Celtic Manor Resort, Newport
• Wednesday 30 April (am) – South-West Thistle Hotel, Bristol
• Friday 2 May (pm) – South-East - Copthorpe Hotel, Kensington, London.
