Evaluation of CDS Direct Pilot
CDS Direct is a pilot project which provides telephone advice to detained clients. Following discussion with the Law Society, the LSC implemented this pilot on 31 October 2005.
The LSC conducted an evaluation of the pilot after six months of operation. The evaluation recommends that the pilot continues and has identified a number of benefits for clients, solicitors, the police and the LSC.
The LSC has published a report on the evaluation 'CDS Direct - Six Month Evaluation Report' which is available in the Related Documents section of this page. A press release has also been issued.
