The General Criminal Contract is how criminal defence work is funded by the Criminal Defence Service (CDS).   The contract secures the provision of competent, quality assured, best value contract work.
The current contract reflecting all changes up to and including April 2007 is under Documents.

This note was prepared it in response to the advice by the Law Society’s solicitors Bircham Dyson Bell (BDB) dated 14 March 2007.

26/02/07: Notice of Contract Amendment to Standard Terms

We sent a notice to all contract holders on 26 February 2007. Please see the Documents panel.

The notice came into force on 1 April 2007 and includes amendments to the Standard Contract Terms for providers outside London. It also gives notice of termination of those contracts from March 2008.

We sent a notice to all contractors on 26 February 2007. Please see the Documents panel.

The notice came into force on 16 April 2007 and includes amendments to the Contract Specification to enable the following:
