The LSC Contract Manager and the defence team negotiate hours for each stage of the case in advance. If they cannot reach agreement on hours for a specific task there is a right of appeal.

The process and timescales are set out in the VHCC Panel Members and Panel Advocates contracts (Annex 14 & 10) under Documents.
