Duty Solicitor Call Centre and CDS Direct

This consultation period commenced on 20 March 2007 and closed on 1 May 2007.

We received and analysed 135 responses to the consultation.

We thank all those who took the time to respond.

After considering all responses the LSC published their final response to the consultation on 21 May 2007. The document outlines the LSC's plan to expand the Duty Solicitor Call Centre from 1 October 2007.

CDS Direct will then be rolled out to cover own client work in two phases.

Requests for police station advice from Police Stations in Greater Manchester, West Midlands and West Yorkshire will form the first phase which will commence on 31 October 2007.

The second phase covering the rest of England and Wales will begin three months later on 31 January 2008.
