About Focus on CDS

Focus on CDS is a supplement to Focus for criminal practitioners.

A typical issue contains an overview of changes taking place including details of key publications and developments.

Focus on CDS is moving online

Focus and Focus on CDS are changing in 2008, moving from print to electronic format. This is in response to concern raised during past surveys about the high cost of producing and posting a magazine – and requests to make it more frequent.

A simple way to solve both issues is to transform Focus and Focus on CDS into an electronic publication. We will provide full details on how you will receive this magazine in the next, and final, print edition of the magazine.

Thank you to the many people who took part in the recent reader survey. Your views will be invaluable as we move Focus and Focus on CDS online.

Keycard 44a

Keycard 44a (CDS Financial Eligbility) is available from this website, at CDS > Criminal legal aid eligibility.

It is usually published in Focus/Focus on CDS, but the timing of the last paper copy means that the Keycard is only available online this year.

Publication schedule

We currently publish Focus on CDS quarterly. The schedule is subject to change depending on what issues need to be communicated and when.

Issue 22 was published in October 2007 and is available under Documents. It was the last paper edition of Focus on CDS.

The final paper edition of Focus will be published in June 2008.

How do I get a copy of Focus on CDS?

We send copies free of charge to all criminal providers currently holding a General Criminal Contract.

You can download issues in PDF from this website (see the Documents panel on the right hand side of this page).
