Virtual Court

We consulted on the amendments to the Unified Contract and Crime Specification necessary to support the national Virtual Court pilot. Contract amendments went live on 12 may 2009 and the pilot started on 20 May 2009, and will run for 12 months.

The letter of invitation to register interest in the Virtual Court Duty Solicitor Scheme, together with the Q&A document and a Frequently Asked Questions document, can be found under 'Documents'.

Revised standard fees

On 16 April 2007 we introduced revised standard fees in 16 main urban areas.

Means testing in the magistrates’ court

In October 2006 we re-introduced means testing for legal aid in the magistrates’ court.
