Legal roles
There are many different activities within a PDS office requiring a variety of skills.
As the PDS deals solely with the Criminal Defence Service, specialist criminal lawyers are at the heart of each office in the following roles:
- Head of Office
- Branch Head
- Principal Lawyers
- Solicitor Advocates
- Duty Solicitor
- Solicitors and Barristers
- Trainee Solicitors
- Accredited Representatives
- Trainee Accredited Representatives.
Administration roles
A number of complementary roles support the legal work:- Business Manager – a new role, responsible in some areas for the overall performance of an office and some central business functions
- Quality Manager – responsible for the day-to-day running of the office
- Administrators – responsible for support functions.
