The Legal Services Commission (LSC) is responsible for administering legal aid and providing two important public services, the Community Legal Services (CLS) and the Criminal Defence Service (CDS).

The East Midlands Region covers six counties:

• Nottinghamshire
• Derbyshire
• Lincolnshire
• Leicestershire
• Rutland
• Northamptonshire

The regional has a population of 4.2 million people. Last year we helped over 45,000 people access face-to-face advice and help to deal with their problems.

Our regional office in Nottingham contracts with around 363 civil and 214 criminal service providers, including 30 not-for-profit organisations, who provide publicly funded legal advice and representation.
