Revised standard fees in the magistrates' court

New fees in urban areas

On 16 April 2007 revised standard fees came into effect in 16 main urban areas.

These fees include a standard element for travel and waiting, which are no longer paid separately to firms working under the scheme.

Revised standard fees apply to work done at courts in an urban area, and to all work done by providers based in an urban area, wherever the work is completed.

The 16 areas where the revised fees apply are:

Fees outside these areas

Outside these areas the original system of standard fees continues to apply.

Providers working under this scheme receive a lower standard fee than providers in urban areas. They claim travel and waiting separately using hourly rates.
