Crime contracts for 2010
Update - 10 September 2010
We have today published documents which provide an overview of the current working arrangements for police station and magistrates' court duty schemes in England and Wales.
This information has been made available in response to a number of queries raised before the start of the new crime contract on 14 July 2010.
For each police station and magistrates' court scheme the document shows the current rota arrangements that are in place. We intend to update this document at key intervals to reflect any local changes, for example, court closures. An up to date postcode eligibility tool is also available on this page.
Since the contracts went live we've reviewed all of the duty solicitor membership lists. As previously confirmed this review will, in some instances, require individual rotas to be reissued to correct any earlier omissions and / or reflect new information that we have been made aware of.
Rotas that require reissue will be sent to providers by 14 September 2010 and will cover the period from 14 October 2010 until 14 January 2011.
2010 Standard Crime Contracts tender is now closed
The current Unified Criminal Contract will expire at midnight on 13 July 2010. The tender for the replacement - the 2010 Standard Crime Contract- has now closed, and the new contracts will run from 14 July 2010 for a three-year term (subject to early termination or extension by up to two years).
